Many variables can affect the overall cost of a custom pool. However, most pools range from $20K-$50K. There are exceptions at both ends of the spectrum.

The structure of the pool is warranted to the original buyer for the life of the pool.
Our Custom Gunite Pools are compatible with salt water chlorination systems. As for our Above Ground and In Ground Vinyl pools, they are not compatible based on Manufacturer's Warranties. Because these pools rely on Galvanized Steel for their structural integrity, it is probable that salt could pre-maturely corrode the Galvanized Steel structure.
Brown and yellow stains can be attributed to minerals falling out of saturation on to the pool surface and creating a chemical bond. Their are several varieties of stain removers available on the market to use. One of the options is Ascorbic acid based removers. One way to determine if ascorbic acid will work is to take lemon slice and apply it to the affected area by scrubbing the lemon over the stain. If the stain lightens or goes away, you have determined that ascorbic acid based removers will work.
If the stains feel "slimy" , they may be algae that has embedded itself in the pore of the plaster, in which case a heavy shock treatment and the right algaecide added to the pool should remedy the problem.
We can install Above-ground and Inground vinyl liner pools anywhere in Texas and Oklahoma.
We install Above-ground and Inground Vinyl liner pools in the Fort Worth area.
There could be several issues... You could have high phosphates which will coat the plates inside of the salt cell making it difficult and possibly impossible for the cell to produce chlorine. The cyanuric acid (stabilizer) could be below 30ppm which would not protect the chlorine from UV light. If there is any signs of algae this could cause the deficit as well, in that the organic material will create increased chlorine demand.
Typically, from the time the contract is signed to filling the pool with water is 8 weeks. Two of the eight weeks is typically what it takes to get the permits approved. Many variables can either lengthen this period or in some cases shorten the time it takes to construct the pool.
Yes, the Doughboy brand above-ground pool has the option of having up to a 7ft. deep end.
Most likely this is new dirt or dust that has entered the pool. Because most above-ground pools do not have main drains, dirt will settle to the bottom on a daily basis. Also, with a sand filter after you backwash be sure to run in the rinse position for at least 10 seconds before you go back to filter position.
Inground vinyl lined pools range from $22k-$30k(usually including up to 400sqft concrete decking). Vinyl lined pools can usually be installed in 4 weeks time.
Some of the benefits of a vinyl lined pool vs. a gunite pool: Vinyl is non-porous, and therefore does not need to be brushed on a weekly basis as a plaster pool surface. Because vinyl is non-porous there is no where for the algae to "hide" in the surface itself, which reduces chemical costs. A vinyl lined pool generally needs less plumbing due to the fact that the vinyl is "slick" and does not reduce flow velocity of water. If soil stability is an issue, vinyl lined pools are flexible and able to expand and contract, within a reasonable margin, and not be compromised structurally. Vinyl lined pools give you more square footage for your dollar especially when it comes to geometric or rectangular shaped pools. Vinyl liners always maintain a smooth feel even when they age, they do not get rough or pitted like plaster can when it is 10 years old.
Each location will have unique hours of operation, but in general May-August we are open on Sundays 12-5pm.
Finding leaks can be difficult, but when found they can be repaired underwater. With vinyl liners you do not want to completely drain the pool as the liner will shrink and will not re-stretch properly. Look for areas that are wet around the pool, this may help locate the general area of the leak. Patch kits can be purchased for usually under $20 and come with plenty of material and glue to make the repair.
This is indicative of a pump and motor struggling to get water. This can happen when water level in pool is too low, there is an obstruction between the pump and skimmer, or pump strainer lid and oring have failed.
Bring a water sample in to our store for analysis. It is important to know if the water is in balance prior to treatment. In general you will need to shock with 4 times the normal treatment, followed by an algaecide like Sea Klear 90 day Algae Prevention and Remover. I would recommend using Sea Klear PRS(particle removal system) to speed up the clarification process. Also, it is very important for Salt pool owners to use a Phosphate remover on a regular basis, as phosphates are not only a food source for algae, but they also will coat the blades in your chlorine generator rendering inefficient or useless. Do not hesitate to contact us should you need any assistance. Thank you for your question!
There are a few factors that influence the answer to your question. Each city will have its own set back requirements, so first check with your city. Secondly, your property survey will reveal any easements that may be in place that would affect the size and positioning of the pool. As a general rule you must stay 1ft. away from the foundation of the home for each 1ft. that is excavated for the pool, for example, if the pool is going to be 5' deep the hole must be 5' from the foundation.
